The groundbreaking ceremony of the 122-kilometer-long Antalya–Alanya Motorway (AAO) Project, which will connect Türkiye’s tourism capital Antalya with Alanya, was held on July 25, 2025. The project, implemented under the Public–Private Partnership (PPP) model, held its financial close ceremony on October 6, 2025.
The project route begins at Serik Interchange and extends eastward. It runs within the borders of Serik and Manavgat districts, following a corridor along the foothills of the Taurus Mountains, and ends at the Alanya Interchange, north of Konaklı.
The project, implemented under sustainability-linked funding, places strong emphasis on quality, environmental protection, and occupational health and safety standards. The works have been certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System standards.
As a project of major importance for the region’s tourism and trade potential, it includes the construction of 16 viaducts, 5 tunnels, 300 culverts and 43 underpasses. Upon completion, the motorway will serve a total length of 122 kilometers, consisting of an 84-kilometer main motorway with 2x3-lanes and a 38-kilometer connection road with 2x2-lanes.
The project, which is currently under construction, is planned to be completed in 2028.
