The Limak Philharmonic Orchestra met with art lovers in Ankara and Istanbul as part of the New Year concerts organized in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Limak Holding. Conducted by internationally acclaimed maestro Mikhail Agrest, the orchestra delivered two unforgettable performances alongside world-renowned tenor Murat Karahan and celebrated Romanian soprano Angela Gheorghiu, widely regarded as one of the leading sopranos of our time.
The concerts attracted significant interest, welcoming nearly 6,000 attendees across both cities. All proceeds from the events were donated to Turkey’s Engineer Girls program, an initiative carried out by the Limak Foundation to support young women in engineering.
Founded by the Limak Foundation to bring polyphonic music to wider audiences and now celebrating its ninth anniversary, the Limak Philharmonic Orchestra hosted some of opera’s most distinguished artists in Türkiye as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations. Held at Ankara Congresium and Istanbul Zorlu PSM, the concerts brought together distinguished guests from the business, public, arts and media communities, along with devoted classical music enthusiasts. Under the baton of Mikhail Agrest, renowned for his powerful interpretations of operatic and symphonic repertoire, the orchestra received prolonged standing ovations on both evenings.
