İstanbul Airport

İstanbul Airport came into service on October 29, 2018.

The project, which will be built on an area of 76.5 million square meters on the Black Sea Coast of İstanbul and will have 6 independent runways including the main passenger terminal and when all phases are completed it will reach a capacity of 200 million passengers. The first phase, consisting of a main terminal building covering 1.4 million square meter, 2 runways, air control tower and support facilities and serving 90 million passengers per year, started its operations on April 6, 2019 with full capacity.

With more than 500 check-ins and 228 passport check points at İstanbul Airport, it is targeted to minimize the time that passengers will devote for the necessary procedures for flight at the airport.  It differs from other airports with its parking lot with a capacity of 40 thousand vehicles, 18 thousands of which are closed and 22 thousands of which is open.

İstanbul Airport, which has the mission of being an attraction center not only in İstanbul or our country but also in our region and the world, has become a global hub with the number of passengers exceeding 54 million.

In the period from April 2019 to December 31, 2019, approximately 322 thousand flights took place. 36.5 million luggage was carried at İstanbul Airport, which is preferred by approximately 52 million domestic and foreign passengers.

At İstanbul Airport, where a total of 74 airline companies have scheduled flights, 11 more foreign airline company started scheduled flights for the first time. While airline companies from different continents, namely Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Far East, have increased the number of frequencies twice; İstanbul Airport is the 5th airport with the highest direct connection in Europe, with an increase of 3.6 percent.

İstanbul Airport , which is the gateway of Turkey to the world and became a global hub in the first year of its operation, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Shanghai Airport Authority, where Shanghai Pudong and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airports take place, from which millions of passengers travel each year and also with Incheon International Airport from South Korea. In addition to these agreements, İstanbul Airport has made sister airport agreements with Beijing Capital International Airport and Beijing Daxing International Airport, which was recently opened for service.

At İstanbul Airport, which aims to turn the time spent at the airport into a unique experience, the IGA PASS passenger program currently reaches over 6,300 members; Over 313,400 people have used the IGA Lounge so far. IGA PASS also left successful year behind by offering Meet & Greet service to more than 26,600 guests.

Over 367,000 passengers have benefited free of charge from the Buggy service, which is available to passengers who are over 65 years old and pregnant and to families with babies up to 2 years old on the arrivals floor of Istanbul Airport.

İstanbul Airport, which reaches 90 percent occupancy mostly through world brands in Duty Free areas with a total size of 54 thousand square meters, has a food and beverage section consisting of 66 units covering an area of 34 thousand square meters with a total of 31 food and beverage brands, 12 of which are foreign and 19 local, where a wide range of options ranging from international cuisine to local and traditional tastes are served to the passengers.

Pristina Adem Jashari International Airport

Pristina Adem Jashari International Airport (PIA) which is qualified as the only international airport of the rapidly developing Republic of Kosovo serves a region with a population of approximately 2.5 million as well as the surrounding Balkan countries. It adds great value to the aviation sector of both Kosovo and the entire Balkan geography and to all organizations serving this sector.

Within the scope of the investment realized, the construction of the new terminal building with an indoor space of 42 thousand square meters, designed as an environmentally friendly and smart building with a perception of modern architecture in international norms as well as 110 thousand square meter apron, new air traffic control tower, rehabilitation of airport transportation roads, parking with a capacity of 1,750 vehicles, fuel tanks and connection roads have been completed.

Limak Kosovo has undertaken the management of terminal and parking lot at the Pristina Adem Jashari International Airport and also responsible for the operation of ground services, aircraft fuel, cargo and PAT (runway, apron, taxiways) and their maintenance and repair. 

With the “Pristina Adem Jashari International Airport Runway Extension and Upgrading Category” project, which started in August 2018 and is planned to be completed in 2020, the runway of the airport, which is currently 2,500 meters, will be extended to 3 thousand meters. By making necessary rehabilitations within the scope of this investment, the category of the runway will be upgraded from CAT II to CAT III B, and it will be possible to use the runway even under the most unfavorable visibility conditions.

By 2019 Pristina Adem Jashari International Airport, which has regular flights of 30 companies, including Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Eurowings, Easyjet, Edelweiss, Wizzair, Orange 2fly, Chair Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Norwegian Air and Swiss International Airlines, has a strategic importance in Central Europe, due to strong diaspora traffic and providing  connections to many countries in air transport  such as Germany, France, Switzerland, Turkey, Austria, England, Italy, Slovenia, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Hungary and Denmark.

Switzerland, Germany and Turkey are among the first three countries to which the airline companies operating at the airport have flights.  Pristina Adem Jashari International Airport shattered a record in 2019 with a total number of 2 million 369 thousand 811 passengers.

In addition to the 10 percent increase in passenger traffic reached in 2019, the new terminal building, which has been in operation for 5 years, as well as the new duty free, food and beverage and commercial areas were put into operation and airport passengers were both served in international norms and at high standards, and airport revenues were increased. A new Business Lounge was opened in 2014, and customer satisfaction oriented investments are ongoing.

Pristina Adem Jashari International Airport follows international management system standards in addition to developed practices to ensure standardization in business processes. It carries out all its services in accordance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ISO 50001 Energy Management System, ISO 10002 Customer Satisfaction Management System, ISO 27001 Information Security Management System and Airport Carbon Accreditation.

As a result of the continuation of environmental endeavors, Pristina Adem Jashari International Airport has been awarded with the certification of Airport Carbon Accreditation Level +3 (Neutrality) by the International Airports Council (ACI).

With annual environmental programs and continuous improvement methods, Pristina Adem Jashari International Airport aims to carry on all its services with zero emissions. 

Senegal Dakar Blaise-Diagne International Airport

Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD) is located in West Africa, 45 kilometers south-east of Dakar which is the capital of Senegal, on a large area of 45 million square meters in the new residential area known as DIASS.

The construction of the new airport “Aeroport International Blaise Diagne” (AIBD) started in 2007, but as a result of the project’s slow progress, on May 22, 2016, an agreement was concluded to complete the project and operate the airport for 25 years between Senegal government and Limak which is experienced in airport construction and operation with the partnership of Summa, operating in the field of construction in Senegal. Limak and Summa managed to complete the remaining 30 percent of the project in 8 months which is a very short period. In the 8 month construction period, a total of 1,500 people, 500 of whom were Turkish, were employed.

In the first stage the new airport which costs 575 million Euros in total, will serve with a capacity of 3 million passengers, and increase its capacity to serve 5 million passengers in 2023 and 10 million passengers in 2035, respectively.

In addition to the single runway that will serve on the 01/19 axis with a size of 3500 mt x 75 mt in the first stage, a reserve area was left in the master plan for the second runway.

There is a fuel hydrant plant in 26 positions on the apron covering a total area of 260 thousand square meters with 79 aircraft parking positions.
The passenger terminal building, constructed on 42 thousand square meters; is designed to serve up to IATA B standards, with 2 floors, 6 telescopic passenger bridges, 44 check-in counters, 3 CIP halls and a commercial area of 2,500 square meters. In the first stage it will serve with a capacity of 3 million passengers and the capacity may be increased up to 10 million.

In addition to the main passenger terminal, Blaise Diagne International Airport serves with a pilgrimage terminal of 2,770 square meters and a VIP lounge of 1,360 square meters.

With the annual capacity of 50,000 tons and 5,600 square meters of cargo facilities, it will be possible to increase the export capacity, which is very important for Senegal. An additional 2,000 square meter cargo facility will be put into operation in 2020.

The Blaise Diagne International Airport runway, with a width of 75 meters and a length of 3,500 meters, may accommodate any type of aircraft, including the A380. In addition, aircraft parking areas accept a total of 50 aircraft, including 26 large carrier, 6 small-medium carrier and 18 general flight aircraft.

Blaise Diagne Airport, which came into service on December 7, 2017, has grown by 5 percent in 2019 compared to the previous year and served a total of 2,491,000 passengers.

LimakPort İskenderun

LimakPort İskenderun, the operating right of which was taken over for 36 years in December 2011 and started container operations in March 2013, spent the year of 2019 efficiently in which both container and non-container cargo volumes increased significantly.

LimakPort İskenderun actively connects to many ports with main and feeder ships, through the lines of Maersk Line, APL, Arkas Line, CMA-CGM, Hapag Lloyd, Sealand, Safmarine, Cosco Shipping, Evergreen, YangMing, Hamburg Süd, Turkon, Medkon, The ONE lines and has transfer connection to the whole world.

The occupancy rate in existing services increased every year and every quarter, with a growth of 27 percent in total full DRY container handling in 2019. DRY full container import continues to be the choice of the customers with the advantages of container tariff offered by LimakPort and it achieved a growth of 30 percent in 2019 compared to the previous year. The containers that come through imports are emptied at the port or after the delivery at the factory and prepared for the demands of our exporters to support the export side of the trade quickly. The railway connection of the port provides alternatives and advantages to its customers in transportation. Since LimakPort is the closest port to the border gates and provides suitable tariffs, it has an advantageous position for its customers engaged in transit trade. A separate department was established for the development of the transit trade, and the LimakPort office was put into operation in Erbil in 2019. It is planned to open an office in Baghdad in 2020.

Due to the advantages and modern equipment provided by LimakPort, just like in container handling,  it became a matter of choice by the the customers in CFS internal filling and unloading operations and CFS operations grew by 23 percent in 2019 compared to 2018.

In 2020, new lines are expected to come into service, and existing lines are expected to start new services. Thus, customers in the port hinterland, which has a very strong potential, will be able to access all parts of the world, using almost all lines.

Limakport is qualified as one of the first port where customer service department was established through which “Customer Focused Service” approach was introduced to the port sector; it continues to make a difference with its service quality day by day with the customer service team consisting of dynamic and innovative experts of 30 person.
With intense promotions and negotiations made to all exporters and importers in the port’s hinterland by the sales and marketing team, new customers are added to the port’s existing customer portfolio which leads to an increase in the market share of Iskenderun region. 

LimakPort İskenderun has become one of the most modern and largest container terminals of the Eastern Mediterranean with an annual handling capacity of 1 million TEU. Operating on an area of 1 million square meters, the port has the feature of being a deep water port with linear and long dock structures, a breakwater providing full protection for adverse weather conditions and a water depth of 15.50 meters. LimakPort, which provides service with modern container handling equipment STS and RTG cranes specially designed for the port, has been designed as container-oriented, and with the comprehensive and versatile investment made; it has become the most important port of the region in the operations of  Ro-ro is, project cargo, bulk cargo and general cargo loads.

LimakPort has become one of the indispensable ports of the Eastern Mediterranean in a short time by being adopted more and more by the industrialists in our hinterland with its high service quality and customer-oriented approach. The target of increasing service quality, diversity and volume will continue in the next period.

Ankara High-Speed Train Station

Ankara High Speed Train Station (ATG), which continues to operate under the partnership of Limak, Cengiz and Kolin Holding, has been put into service on October 29, 2016.

At ATG which is the first in our country; in addition to the train station, there is a shopping center with a selected store mix, a business hotel and leasable offices.

With its modern and contemporary architecture, it is qualified as an environmentally friendly structure with a Leed certificate. Total area of ATG is 195 thousand square meters, its leasable area is 25 thousand square meters, and the leasable office area is 4 thousand square meters. ATG and Life Center welcomes 100 thousand visitors a day and in addition to the revolution made in transportation through ATG, it is aimed to contribute to the economy of the country in terms of trade.

ATG has 6 railway lines and 6 platforms. It is the junction point of all railway and high-speed train lines of our country. ATG, which includes services such as VIP and CIP lounges, banking services, car rental points, travel companies, cargo companies, luggage and bag storage stations, infirmary; continues to offer shopping and transportation opportunity with variety and pleasure, with a closed car park capacity of 2,500 cars and an open car park for 90 cars.

The Ankara Hotel within ATG constitutes an alternative for all kinds of meetings and organizations with 134 room capacity in total and a ballroom with a capacity of 1.000 people.

ATG is the eighth largest transportation complex in the world and the sixth in Europe.

Northern Marmara Motorway

The Northern Marmara Motorway, which connects the Asian and European continents, is an investment providing high standards, safety, quality and uninterrupted transportation that will ease the transportation of the Marmara Region, which hosts the largest industrial regions of our country. The main engineering structures of the Northern Marmara Motorway are viaducts, tunnels, overpasses, underpasses and culverts which will have a total of 400 kilometers when completed including connection roads. The 4-lane tunnels of the Northem Marmara Motorway are the largest tunnels in the world.

While it will enable to save energy and reduce the workforce costs due to the relief that will occur in traffic, the negative impacts created by the heavy traffic on the environment will be eliminated. 

The project consists of two parts: European Section and Asian Section. Kurtköy-Akyazı Section on the Anatolian side (including connection roads); It was undertaken by Limak-Cengiz-Kolin. 4th section of the project was completed in March 2019 and opened to traffic and it is operated by the Northern Marmara Motorway Company. The construction of the 6th Section of the project (Km:  239+800244+800) is ongoing and it is planned to be completed and put into operation in 2020.

The fourth section of Kurtköy- Akyazı Highway namely Kurtköy and Liman Junction (Km: 129 + 650-151 + 500)   which is the continuation of Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge will greatly ease the traffic of the region. There are 185 culverts, 22 underpasses, 15 bridges, 17 overpasses, 6 viaducts, 3 tunnels, 3 highway service facilities and 10 junctions on the highway and the construction and operation period is 6 years, 9 months and 12 days.
