The main engineering structures of the Northern Marmara Motorway, which has a total of 400 kilometers of roads including the connection roads, are viaducts, tunnels, overpasses, underpasses and culverts. The 4-lane tunnels of the Northern Marmara Motorway are the largest tunnels in the world.

The Northern Marmara Motorway Enterprise, which consists of two separate companies, Avrupa Otoyolu Yatırım ve İşletme AŞ on the European side and KMO Anadolu Otoyolu İşletme AŞ on the Asian side, has been equipped with Intelligent Transportation Systems technology in order to ensure the safety of highway users.
