Çetin Dam and HEPP

Çetin Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP), located within the borders of Şirvan and Pervari districts of Siirt, started generating electricity at full capacity.

Çetin Dam and HEPP, whose construction is completed in 2.5 years, which is a record period and has a total installed capacity of 420 MW, is the largest dam in Turkey and Europe according to the type of roller compacted concrete (RCC). The dam, whose RCC body is 165 meters high, has a body volume of 4.8 million cubic meters. The dam, which has been completed with a total investment of 600 million dollars, will produce an average annual energy output of 1.5 billion kWh and will contribute 100 million dollars per year to the Turkey economy.

Çetin Dam and HEPP, which is expected to make a huge contribution to our national economy in terms of using our country’s domestic and renewable resources, will also greatly reduce our energy imports from abroad.
