The contract for the Silvan Tunnel Completion Section II project was signed in May 2023.
The second tunnel, a key component of the GAP and Silvan Irrigation Project, spans 13,236 meters and involves an excavation volume of 1.1 million cubic meters.
As of 2025, the excavation has reached a depth of 1,735 meters. The project includes the production of a total of 22,000 cubic meters of concrete for the intake and outlet gates. Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) technology is being utilized throughout the construction process.
The project is scheduled for completion in 2027.
