The dam is located on Gönen River in Balıkesir province for power generation, irrigation and flood control. The zoned earth fill and rock fill dam is 78 m high from the foundation with a fill volume of 2.500.000 m3. The total installed capacity of two units is 5,3 MW with an annual power generation of 47,5 million kWh.
