It is located in the center of Kargı Dam on the Sakarya River in the Central Anatolia Region and south of the district of Beypazarı in Ankara.
Gürsöğüt-1 Dam and HEPP is in the type of roller compacted concrete dam with a 207 thousand cubic meter embankment and a height of 86 meters. The installed power of the plant is 2 x 17,63 MW + 1 x 4,37 MW which is 39,63 MW in total; total energy production is 204,878 GWh per year.
Gürsöğüt-2 Dam and HEPP is in the type of roller compacted concrete dam with a 262 thousand cubic meter embankment and a height of 49 meters. The installed power of the plant is 2x 9,27 MW which is 18,310 MW in total; total energy production is 98,126 GWh per year.
Construction works at Gürsöğüt 1-2 Dam and HEPP were completed and temporary admissions of DSI were made. While energy production has started in Gürsöğüt-1 Dam and HEPP, energy production will start at the beginning of 2021 in Gürsöğüt-2 Dam and HEPP.
