The dam is located 25 km northeast of Milas District in Muğla province on Sarıçay Stream. The purpose of the dam is to supply cooling water to Yeniköy Thermal Power Plant. The rockfill body has a height of 41 m from the foundation with a fill volume of 350.000 m3.
